What do successful scaffolding teachers do?
|
Mariani (1997) explored different consequences in the classroom based on how challenging a task was and how much support was given by the teacher. It was concluded that if an activity was challenging with little support students would likely not be successful. If activities were not challenging enough, students will not be motivated, become bored and behavioural problems would likely be present. If too much support is given it will be too easy for students, but with the right amount of support during a challenging activity students will build on what they can already so and feel confident and capable. |
